2 Easy Ways to Introduce Your Kids to Entrepreneurship

Many people that I’ve spoken with love the idea of kids exploring the world of entrepreneurship. The challenge may be “how do you go about it”?

I suggest starting out small and in a way where the young entrepreneur can see some immediate sales success:

Method 1: Concessions at your next yard sale:

The next time you, a neighbor or family member have a yard sale; let the kids also set up a table selling bottled water or snack items that can be purchased in quantity. You can get these in bulk at any Sam’s Club or Costco.

Method 2: EBay

Instead of getting rid of their old toys the traditional way, have your kids pick out 1-3 items that you feel can be sold on EBay. If you’ve used EBay before, walk them through the steps of the process. Let them watch the bidding action and give them the money for the items sold.

For either of these suggestions, I recommend that you take out money that covered all or some costs so that the young entrepreneur can get a real feel of the sales process and encourage them to do more.
